Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and who else touches it. In plain English, because you should not need a lawyer to read it.
Last updated: September 28, 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to print your order and run your account, we take payment through Stripe so your card details never reach us, and we treat your artwork as confidential. There are no advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell your information.
The rest of this page is the detail behind that summary.
01Who this policy covers
This policy explains what Big Water Print Co. (“we”, “us”) does with personal information when you visit www.bwprint.co, create an account, upload artwork, place an order, or contact us. We are a printing business in Belding, Michigan, and we sell to shops, brands and organizations across North America.
It does not cover other companies' websites we link to, or what your own customers do with garments you decorate using our transfers.
02Information you give us
We only ask for what we need to print and ship an order, and to keep your account working.
- Account details. Your name, email address, and optionally a company name and phone number. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is stored as a cryptographic hash. We never see it. If you sign in with Google instead, Google confirms who you are and shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we use the name and email for your account and never receive your Google password.
- Order details. The artwork files you upload, the printed size and quantity for each graphic, any notes you add, and the shipping address for the order. You can also save a default shipping and billing address to your account.
- Payment details. Card payments are taken by Stripe on our checkout page. Stripe receives your card number directly. We never receive or store it. What we keep is the amount, the currency, the date, the card brand and its last four digits, and Stripe's reference for the payment, so we can match payments to orders and answer questions about them.
- Messages. Anything you send through the contact form or by email: your name, email address, optional company name, and the message itself.
03Information collected automatically
When you use the site, our hosting provider records ordinary technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is standard server logging, used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse and faults.
Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, described below, each set their own. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout step to process the payment and detect fraud.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and move around the site. It measures which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, which site or search sent you, what kind of device you used, and which orders were completed and for how much. We do not send Google your name, email address, artwork or anything else that identifies you personally, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences. Google describes its own handling of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising. We advertise on Google and use Google Ads conversion tracking: when you complete an order after clicking one of our ads, the same Google tag described above tells Google Ads that an order happened and for how much, so we can see which ads work. Google may connect that to the ad you clicked using its own cookies; you can adjust this at adssettings.google.com. We also run the Meta pixel, from the company behind Facebook and Instagram, so we can advertise there and see which ads actually lead to orders. It tells Meta which of our pages you viewed and the total of an order you completed, along with your IP address and browser details. Meta can match that to a Facebook or Instagram account, and it may use it to show you our ads later. We do not send Meta your name, email address or artwork.
This is advertising, not just measurement, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. Under some state privacy laws it counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands for it.
How to stop it. A tracker-blocking extension or a browser that blocks third-party trackers by default will stop both the analytics and the pixel, and the site works normally without them. You can also switch off Google Analytics specifically with Google's opt-out add-on, and limit what Meta does with what it collects in your Facebook ad preferences. Or email us at hello@bwprint.co asking us not to share your information for advertising, and we will honor it.
04How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Print, pack and ship your orders, and lay your graphics out on a gang sheet.
- Take payment, issue receipts and, where needed, refunds.
- Keep your account, artwork library and order history available to you.
- Send transactional email about your order and your account, such as confirmations, receipts and password resets.
- Answer your questions and provide support.
- Apply a negotiated rate to your account if you have one.
- Keep records we are required to keep, including for tax and accounting.
- Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
05Your artwork
Your artwork is yours. We treat uploaded files as confidential and use them only to produce the orders you place and to provide your artwork library.
- Files are stored in a private bucket, not on a public URL. Access is restricted to your own account and to our staff.
- Downloads use short-lived, single-purpose links rather than permanent public addresses.
- We do not sell your artwork, license it to anyone, or add it to a public design catalog.
- We will not use your designs in our own marketing, portfolio or social media without asking you first.
- Each account has a storage allowance, and you can delete a file from your library at any time, unless it is attached to an order that is still in production.
07How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Orders, payments and receipts: kept as business and tax records, typically for at least seven years, because we are required to.
- Artwork files: while your account is open, or until you delete them. Ask us and we will remove files that are not tied to an order we still have to keep records for.
- Contact messages: kept while we deal with your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs: kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
08How we protect it
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection. Artwork sits in private storage, and our database enforces row-level rules so an account can only ever read its own orders, files and payments. Staff access is limited to the people who run production and support. Payment card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us promptly at hello@bwprint.co if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
09Your choices and rights
You can view and change your name, company, phone number, saved addresses and password from your account page, and you can delete artwork from your library. For anything else, email us at hello@bwprint.co and we will help.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to appeal a decision we make about such a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we may need to keep information the law requires us to keep, such as records of a completed sale.
Opting out of advertising. We never sell personal information for money. We do share browsing information with Meta for advertising, and you have the right to stop that: block the pixel in your browser, or email hello@bwprint.co and ask us to exclude you. The Information collected automatically section explains both routes in full.
10Children
This is a service for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11Where your information is handled
We operate in the United States and our providers process information there. If you order from Canada, Mexico or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your own country. Placing an order means you understand that.
12Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top when we do. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the text.
13Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold about you, go to hello@bwprint.co, or through the contact page.
